Starting June 1st (Sun), Kobe-based patisserie Anthenor<\/a> will be selling its Kyoto-area limited edition product, "Kyoto's Strong Tea," in stores in other areas for a limited time. This is a special confectionery made with Uji matcha "Kyoto's Nightingale," a unique blend created in collaboration with Kyoto's long-established tea wholesaler, Kitagawa Hanbei Shoten. The confectionery will deliver a deep, delicious fusion of Japanese and Western flavors from Kyoto to all over Japan. <\/p>\n

Strong tea from Kyoto<\/strong><\/p>\n

A smooth matcha cream mixed with white chocolate is sandwiched between a matcha dacquoise made with specially selected Uji matcha "Kyoto no Uguisu". Sweet and sour strawberry pulp is added to the fragrant matcha for a perfect accent. This matcha sweet has a deep flavor but also a pleasant refreshing taste.<\/p>\n

Based on the words of a Japanese tea artisan that "high-quality matcha has a rich fragrance and a sweet taste that stands out more than its bitterness," our pastry chef and Kitagawa Hanbei Shoten worked together to create an original Uji matcha that goes best with Western sweets.<\/p>\n

"Antenor" is a Western confectionery brand developed by Edelweiss Co., Ltd., which was founded in Kobe in 1978 by a confectioner who wanted to "make the best Western confectionery in Japan."
