PARCO GAMES, the game label of PARCO Co., Ltd., has teamed up with the interactive puzzle-solving brand "Tumbleweed" to present the research-based exhibition "The Kingdom of Panja, a Country Not on the Map."
The event will be held from Friday, October 9th, 2026 to Sunday, December 6th, 2026 at the PARCO_ya Ueno 4F event space.
Interpret the exhibits and venture into the city. An investigative experience tracing the traces of a "country not on the map" in Ueno and Okachimachi.
The research-based exhibition, "The Kingdom of Panja: A Country Not on Maps," combines an exhibition that deciphers the unknown language and discovered artifacts of a country whose records have been lost with an interactive event where visitors can explore the Ueno and Okachimachi areas on foot to search for the '______' of the Kingdom of Panja.
Enjoy PARCO GAMES' first-ever "investigative exhibition," where you'll use observation and deduction to gradually uncover the outline of a country not found on any map, based on your own interpretation.
What is the Kingdom of Panja?
Approximately 400 km southwest of Okinotorishima, Japan's southernmost island.
In 2022, several pieces of wood inscribed with unknown characters were discovered in this sea area. Research revealed the existence of an unknown kingdom—the "Kingdom of Panja"—that had never been marked on any map before.
The remaining records reveal a unique language, culture, and history.
However, records of the Panja Kingdom cease at a certain point in time, and its existence remains unconfirmed to this day.
Is this fictional, or a discovery?
In this exhibition, you will be invited to investigate the Kingdom of Panja yourself, using the unknown language, discovered artifacts, and historical records as clues.

① Deciphering an unknown language
With the pamphlet distributed at the venue in hand, you'll try to decipher the unknown language, "Panja," while viewing the exhibits.
② Interpreting the exhibits
By examining the discovered artifacts and historical records, we will learn about the culture and history of the Panja Kingdom and investigate a country not found on maps.
③ Go out into town
The investigation takes place in the Ueno-Okachimachi area.
Using the knowledge and insights gained from the exhibition as clues, we will trace the remnants of the Panja Kingdom left in the city.
