At the Tokyo National Museum Toyo-kan, we held a special project for the 40th anniversary of the Japan-China Peace and Friendship Treaty "Majestic Artists of Chinese Modern Painting" for the period of October 30 (Tue) – December 25 (Tue) I will.

Purpose of holding



This year marks the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Japan-China Peace and Friendship Treaty.

This commemoration of the, through the Beijing Painting Academy of Fine Arts, will be held an exhibition to introduce widely the people and art of Chinese modern painting masters, Qi Baishi (electrostatic Hakuseki).

Cozaite (1864-1957) is one of the most famous and popular painters in contemporary China, given the title of "People's Artist." Born as a poor family in Xiangtan in Hunan Province, he earned a living as a carpenter / fighter at the beginning. Sai Hakushi has extensive work on subjects such as mountain water, flower birds, fish, shrimp and others, making full use of bright and ornate colors, simple and powerful brush strokes, and freedom of ink spread. Humorous, loving looking pouring into a person motif, sophisticated observation eyes against small insects can not be overlooked. In addition, it has gained a high reputation as a calligrapher and scrupulist.

Beijing Gallery is the oldest and largest scale art academy in China established in 1957. Through creation and research, training of human resources, we have been working on the development of Chinese art world and international exchange through culture. It is also known to have Hakushoishi as the first honorary director and to hold many of its excellent products.
