This year’s National Plum Wine Festival in Tokyo 2024 will feature over 120 varieties of plum wine, including those that won gold, silver, and bronze awards at the National Plum Wine Competition 2023. You can compare your favorite brands and purchase them as souvenirs on the spot. In addition, there will be paid tastings and lottery sales of the rare Dassai Plum Wine. You can also enjoy the sale of innovative drinks such as plum wine beer, and pairings of food that go well with plum wine.

“Umesen” is a special coin used mainly when comparing different types of plum wine.

Up until last year, advance tickets were sold for 19 sen (1,700 yen), but we received feedback from customers saying things like “I use up all my tickets quickly” and “It’s a hassle to line up to buy more umesen…” so starting this year, the advance price has been increased to 30 sen (2,500 yen). Also, same-day tickets are 25 sen (2,500 yen), so advance tickets are by far the best deal◎

There is plum wine made with sake, brandy, citrus fruits such as mango and peach, and even green tea plum wine.

Compare the different flavors that the brewers have put their ingenuity into to find your favorite.

In a special corner, you can compare the plum wines that won gold, silver, and bronze awards at the “National Plum Wine Competition 2023” ! You can enjoy high-quality award-winning plum wines to your heart’s content.

2. Over 120 varieties available for sale! Enjoy “umeshu” at home!

If you find your favorite plum wine at the tasting area, you can purchase it as a souvenir at the sales area.

These plum wines are hard to find in the neighborhood, so they make great souvenirs! You can also choose based on the label or bottle design.

3. Limited sale “Dassai Umeshu” Paid tasting & bottle lottery sales

Dassai Umeshu is an authentic plum wine made using the highest quality, ripe Nanko ume plums and brewed with Junmai Daiginjo sake polished to 23%.

Dassai Umeshu, developed in collaboration between Yamaguchi Prefecture sake brewery Asahi Shuzo Co., Ltd. and the Umeshu Research Association, is a rare plum wine that can only be found at the Umeshu Festival.

*The number of samples available for purchase and bottle sales is limited.

*Bottle sales will be by lottery.

4. We sell innovative drinks such as plum wine beer, and you can enjoy pairing them with your food!

They sell innovative drinks such as “Umeshu Beer,” made with plum wine that won a gold medal at the National Umeshu Competition.

You can also enjoy the pairing of this gold medal plum wine with food.

“Umesen” is a coin that can be used to exchange for plum wine samples or for content.

(Example: Plum wine can be sampled for 1 to 7 sen per glass (Umesen) depending on the brand. *1 glass is about 16ml. (Example: Plum wine beer can be purchased for 7 sen per glass.)

(Plum wine sales, mariage, plum wine drinks, and Dassai plum wine can be paid for with other means than plum coins)
