In the spring of 2021, famous facilities in the Ueno area of Tokyo gathered together to hold a 10-day facility-hopping event to revitalize the city of Ueno, which was suffering from the COVID-19 pandemic. The event was called “Samanazume!?” The response to the event was tremendous, and many people asked for it to be held again. So, in October 2024, Samanazume!? has returned with an upgraded version, with [the number of participating facilities increased to 8 facilities], [Samanazume!? prizes are even more luxurious], and [it is easier to roam around than ever before].
<What is a mystery?>
Sauna Mystery!? is a mobile, entry-based event where participants visit multiple famous facilities around Ueno, answer quizzes posted at the facilities, and enter to win a luxurious prize. It was held in 2021 and 2022, and was a huge success with many participants and applicants. It originally started out as a desire to work together to revive the Ueno area, which had lost its vitality due to frequent self-restraint from going out during the COVID-19 pandemic, which hit not only sauna facilities but also restaurants and accommodation facilities hard. The multiple facilities, which were originally rivals, joined hands during the event period and joined forces in the hope of attracting customers to both, making it a unifying event.

<This year we are holding a collaboration project with Ueno Marui again!>
For the first time at Sauna Mystery!? in 2022, we collaborated with Ueno Marui to open the Sauna Mystery!? POP UP STORE. Since its opening, it has received a great response, and sells various sauna goods as well as Sauna Mystery!? original goods. With famous managers of each facility also in the sales area, it has become a store that is fun to visit and has attracted a lot of attention.
This time, the collaboration with Marui has been made even more powerful. During the Samanzo!? period, the Samanzo!? POP UP STORE will be open again this year in a special space on the 5th floor. In addition to many goods, there will also be a raffle and an exhibition of extremely rare items from each facility. This time, a Samanzo!? event will also be held on the rooftop of Ueno Marui. There will be events in which everyone can participate, such as a quiz competition and talk event. A special guest will also be appearing exclusively for the rooftop event.

<What a mystery!? From the management team to everyone>
Saunazo!? has been revived for the first time in two years. When holding the event, the management team thought seriously about what makes Saunazo!? unique, what the sauna-goers who participate in Saunazo!? expect, and how they can enjoy themselves. The sauna world these days is full of events and merchandise sales, and sauna-goers are starting to get a little bored. We felt that unless we could create something uniquely fun for Saunazo!? that other events don’t have, sauna-goers wouldn’t be satisfied. After much deliberation, we decided that Saunazo!? wanted to prioritize the following requirements.
– Use the sauna a lot
・Enjoy participating in the program, rather than just watching and listening to it
・Minimize the financial burden on sauna users
・It can be enjoyed easily without the hassle of sauna users.
・Enjoy leisurely without crowds
During the event, we want you to explore the various facilities at your own pace, so we have removed the hassle of applying and the hurdle of accommodation, and we have made the event participatory. If you have some free time during the 11 days from October 4th, please come and visit Ueno. Feel free to participate and apply as you feel like it. We hope that all sauna lovers will have a little fun.
