This exhibition focuses on the relationship between the two encounters behind this, the Hague School and the Impressionist School, and Van Gogh, and approaches the secret of Van Gogh's unique creation.
In this exhibition, in addition to Van Gogh's work, works of masters representing the Hague and Impressionists such as Maufé, Monet and Renoir will be exhibited. An easy-to-understand introduction to the process until Van Gogh arrives at his original style.

Many people may not be familiar with the Hague school, but the painters gathered in the seaside town of The Hague in the southwestern Netherlands, whose naturalistic landscapes and genre paintings are the forerunners of modern European paintings. The
Van Gogh, who loved Millet, sympathized with the Hague who described peaceful daily life on the stage of nature, and asked Maufe , the central figure, to teach and interact. It can be said that Van Gogh's first step as a “peasant painter” began here.
Encounter with "Impressionism"

Until then, Van Gogh used to depict the daily life and inner side of the farmers in dark colors, but meeting the Impressionism in Paris will bring up bright colors and various brushstrokes to open up a unique style. is.
In the second half of the exhibition, the works of Impressionist masters will be introduced in comparison with Van Gogh's paintings, and the trajectory of the painting will be traced.
