Mosaic tile specialty store “MARBLE TOKYO” will open at 11:00 on Thursday, July 11th at “2k540 AKI-OKA ARTISAN,” a commercial facility with the theme of “Japanese manufacturing” located under the railway overpass between JR Akihabara Station and Okachimachi Station.

  • About “MARBLE TOKYO”

“MARBLE TOKYO” is a mosaic tile and interior goods store run by Mosaic Japan Co., Ltd. (Joso City, Ibaraki Prefecture/CEO: Hisaaki Aoki), a building materials manufacturer that deals in color-matched tiles and marble mosaics. The company develops and sells original building materials such as mosaics, art ceramic panels, tiles, and stone, with the theme of “creating things that don’t exist in the world.” The new store, which will be the company’s first brick-and-mortar store, will sell miscellaneous goods such as chairs made by tile color matchers and wall art made by assembly craftsmen. Customers can touch and feel the company’s original products, including art pieces created by craftsmen. Workshops using mosaic tiles are also planned.

  • [Event Information] Tanabata event “Megurite & (And)” will be held at the event space!

“Megurite” is a shop that sells products made by artisans of traditional Japanese crafts. The concept of this shop is that the artisans who make the products, the communicators who convey the quality of the products, and the users who will cherish the products all support the creation of the products.

This time, we will be holding an event to promote the charm of craftsmanship with fellow craftsmen as part of our original Tanabata project, “Meguri-te &”! In addition to the bamboo craftsman “Yagi Bamboo Industry Co., Ltd.” of Meguri-te, fellow craftsmen include mud dyeing craftsman “Higo Senzome” from Amami Oshima, gardening craftsman “Sen no Niwa Kobo”, and bamboo paper maker “Tanemaki” who will be holding sales and workshops exclusively for this occasion!

<<Write your wishes on bamboo paper strips and decorate them as Tanabata decorations!>>

You can write your wishes on strips of bamboo paper made from 100% domestic bamboo in Kagoshima Prefecture and hang them on the bamboo Tanabata decorations. The strips on which you have written your wishes will be donated to the event after the event. (Participation fee: Free)
