NOHGA HOTEL UENO TOKYO (hereinafter "NOHGA HOTEL UENO"), operated by Nomura Real Estate Hotels Co., Ltd. (Head office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo / President and CEO: Yasuhiro Ishii, hereinafter "the Company"), will be holding a special event for a limited time from Tuesday, August 19, 2025, for guests staying at the hotel. The event embodies the brand concept of "wonderful experiences born from deep connections with the community." The event is a collaboration with Yamagata Shoten, a long-established fireworks wholesaler that has supported fireworks culture in Kuramae, Tokyo for many years.
NOHGA HOTEL UENO has been operating under the theme of "CRAFT Your Senses – Experience the skills and hearts of artisans and open your sensibilities" since its opening in 2018, and has been taking advantage of its location in Taito Ward, a "town of artisans," to continue to interact and collaborate with various traditional craft workshops in the area.
In collaboration with Yamagata Shoten, a long-established fireworks wholesaler in Kuramae, Tokyo, which has supported fireworks culture for many years, we are holding a special event for our hotel guests every Tuesday from August 19 to September 16, 2025, for a limited time only. Enjoy the unique atmosphere of a Japanese summer night as you gaze upon the delicate and beautiful sparks that spread like blooming flowers. The ephemeral yet vibrant glow of the handcrafted sparklers stimulates the senses, creating a truly memorable experience. Experience a summer atmosphere woven with traditions passed down since the Edo period and Japanese aesthetics at NOHGA HOTEL UENO.
■ Overview of the Sparkler Experience
Dates and times: Every Tuesday from August 19th to September 16th, 2025 *20:00-21:00 each day
Experience: Experience using domestic sparklers
* During the fireworks experience, we will provide a special complimentary bottle of Ramune to help you cool down (same for each day)
Capacity: 15 people/day
Venue: 1F Terrace (Bistro Nohga Terrace) *Cancelled in case of bad weather
Participation fee: Free *Limited to hotel guests
Application: Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis and will close once capacity is reached.

The life of a purely Japanese sparkler is said to resemble a person's life itself.
1. Peony
The "peony" catches fire and turns into a bright red fireball like a fresh newborn life.
2. Pine needles
Soon the sparks gained momentum and burned fiercely like pine needles.
3. Willow
The powerful sparks have calmed down, and the willow has a quiet beauty that seems to have been rounded off.

◎About Yamagata Shoten
Founded in 1914, Yamagata Shoten is a long-established fireworks and toy wholesaler that has flexibly adapted to the changing times by developing new products, overcoming numerous hardships such as the Great Kanto Earthquake and the Tokyo Air Raids. The fifth-generation owner, working with Sanshu Kako, a fireworks production center in Aichi Prefecture, worked hard to revive the production of purely domestic sparklers, which had been discontinued in 1998. In 2000, the company was reborn as Oedo Peony, and continues to convey the atmosphere and culture of Japanese summers to the present day.
