Ecute Ueno, an in-station commercial facility operated by JR East Cross Station Development Company, Inc. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Company president: Yoshiaki Shirata), will be holding its first "Summer Christmas" event from Monday, August 18 to Sunday, September 7. Starting Monday, August 25, a Summer Christmas tree display and ornament-making experience will begin.
Summer Christmas is a celebration of Christmas in the middle of summer, held every year on August 25th. Inside the ticket gates of Ecute Ueno, a rare summer Christmas tree will be set up! You can experience making ornaments using empty capsule toy cases , making it the perfect way to create summer memories. The experience of transforming empty cases into ornaments will also give you an opportunity to think about sustainability in a more personal way. In addition, if you make a purchase at selected shops, you will receive a unique summer ornament as a gift. Let's decorate the ornaments together and complete the summer Christmas tree!
Inside the building, you'll find summery products such as colorful sweets made with fresh summer fruits like watermelon, mango, and melon, as well as tarts made with "Suzuakane" strawberries, which are in season from summer to autumn . There's also a lineup of refreshing drinks and sweets in Christmas colors to enjoy during the lingering heat of summer! As the intense heat continues, enjoying Christmas in the summer will bring you a different, more extraordinary feeling and coolness than usual.

A summer Christmas tree, something you don't often see in the summer, will be appearing at Tomarigi (event plaza) in Ecute Ueno! There will also be an ornament-making event using recycled capsule toy cases, which will also help you feel a little closer to sustainability. Why not make some fun summer memories at Ecute Ueno?

Reuse empty capsule toy cases from "Ken Ele Stand" to create your own one-of-a-kind ornament! This easy-to-participate activity is fun for parents and children alike, making it the perfect way to create summer memories for your children. You can decorate your tree with the ornaments you make, or take them home and use them as Christmas ornaments. The experience of transforming empty cases into ornaments also provides an opportunity to think about sustainability in a more personal way.
Also, if you write down a wish you want to come true and put it in a capsule, you have a chance to make it come true! The theme is "What would you like to make come true in the station?" Please tell us what extraordinary thing you would like to make come true.
