“SHELVES COFFEE”, a coffee shop that selects coffee beans from roasters in North America, mainly in Seattle, that are making their first appearance in Japan, has opened in Okachimachi!

SHELVES COFFEE, which selects coffee beans from local roasters in Seattle and Portland [opening in Japan for the first time], has opened a SHELVES COFFEE Okachimachi store following its Minato store in Chuo Ward.

This coffee shop offers a selection of coffee beans from local roasters based in Seattle, North America, who are opening in Japan for the first time.

In North America, coffee lovers, families living nearby, business people, students, people who want to chat with familiar staff or go to work, and many other people use cafes for a variety of purposes. Specialty coffee is ingrained in our daily lives, and we are connected to each other through coffee without even realizing it. SHELVES COFFEE was opened with the aim of creating a place in Japan where you can enjoy the way cafes are integrated into the lives of such people.

The Chuo-ku Minato store, which opened in May 2024, was opened as a DIY-style self-service coffee stand with the desire to let customers know that “brewing coffee is fun and that coffee you brew yourself tastes especially good.” It is now becoming a place of relaxation for regular customers who have discovered the deliciousness of fruity light roast coffee that they are not used to drinking.

This August, we opened the SHELVES COFFEE Okachimachi store in Okachimachi, a downtown area of Tokyo.

The store is symbolically designed with shelves, which is also the name of the store, and roaster brands that are not usually located next to each other are lined up on the shelves, providing fun and excitement when selecting beans. You can have lively conversations while looking at the overseas-style packaging lined up on the shelves, about the thoughts of each roaster, the differences in the taste of coffee, and brewing methods.

In addition to coffee-based menu items such as hand drip coffee and cafe latte brewed one cup at a time using your favorite beans, we also offer tea and syrup juice. Coffee beans can be purchased from 100g.

In the future, we plan to offer homemade baked goods and open a lunch and bar.

We will strive to develop it into a place that can be enjoyed by local residents, workers, and anyone who happens to be visiting the town.
