~ Lots of anniversary events, including special menus, an employee costume contest, and an Instagram posting campaign ~
TGI Fridays, one of the world’s largest American casual dining chains with over 850 stores in 55 countries operated by TGI Fridays Japan (headquarters: Ota-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter referred to as “TGI Fridays”), is celebrating its 25th anniversary in Japan by holding a “HAPPY 25th ANNIVERSARY! Huge Thanksgiving Festival” with a “Happy Halloween” event at all 12 stores from Tuesday, October 1st to Thursday, October 31st, 2024.
TGI Fridays has been in business for 25 years since it first opened in Shibuya, Tokyo in 1999. With its American-style food, generous portions, and entertaining bartender performances, it has been loved by many as a fun-filled American restaurant and bar that evokes the “good old 70s America.”
TGI Fridays will continue to work hard with the motto of Fun, Freedom, and Celebration, and with gratitude to all customers and stakeholders in mind. In October, with the theme of “HAPPY 25th ANNIVERSAY!” in 2024, we will pursue American Halloween culture and decorate the store in Halloween colors. In addition, we will offer “Trick or Treat Cookie Nachos” as a Halloween special menu. In addition, we will hold various events to color the anniversary, such as the top three bartender special cocktail menus selected in the Halloween cocktail contest hosted by TGI FRIDAYS JAPAN, a thrilling employee costume contest, and an Instagram post giveaway campaign. We look forward to your visit.

History of TGI Fridays
In 1965, Alan Stillman opened the first TGI Fridays in New York City, USA, with the timeless promise of “In Here, It’s Always Friday.” Inspired by the Barnum & Bailey Circus, the red and white stripes were created with the ambition to stage “the greatest show on earth.” With smooth cocktail making and charismatic bartenders, Fridays quickly became “the meeting place for singles.”
What is TGI Fridays?
TGI Fridays, which stands for “TGIF (Thank Goodness It’s Friday)” and means “Yay! It’s Friday!”, was founded in New York in 1965 and first arrived in Japan in 1999 in Shibuya, Tokyo. It is now one of the world’s largest American casual dining chains, with over 850 stores in 55 countries around the world, including 12 stores nationwide. It is popular with people of all ages and genders as a space where you can enjoy a fun-filled meal, with dishes that are full of American taste and volume, and dynamic bartender performances.
