At the National Science Museum, we will hold a planning exhibition "Techniques for specimen making (Waza) – Exhibition that is supported by craftsmen -" from September 4 (Tuesday) to November 25 (Sun) in 2018.
"Mono" such as natural objects collected by museums and products of science and technology are used for research and exhibition as specimens and materials for the first time through procedures such as arranging and repairing scientific technical materials, It can be stored for a long time. In this exhibition, what is a specimen? We will introduce the "technique (Waza)" which is not well-known specimen preparation for every five research divisions of animals, plants, earth science, humanities, science and engineering.
Those who acquired skills of sample making are just like to call craftsmen, the quality of specimen and craftsmen and samples will influence the life of the specimen. In addition to a number of specimens made by craftsmen, we will also exhibit a lot of specimen making techniques and tools. The work site of sample making is also reproduced. You can enjoy the realism as if you are in the backyard of the museum.
This exhibition is "Monthly! Spirits "(Shogakkan) series magazine in the series" Unbelievable thing! "We are collaborating. Creator Takamori Hayami has a career actually making specimens at the hotel, and the hotel cooperates in the production of manga. In the exhibition room, Illustrations of manga will be displayed for every five research departments.
