Two types of limited-edition cut-out Goshuin stamps have begun to be awarded for the first time at Konpon Chudo at Kan’eiji Temple, a temple connected to the Tokugawa Shogunate family in Ueno, Tokyo.

On Saturday, December 16th, Elternal Co., Ltd. (Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, CEO Takayasu Kokubo; hereinafter referred to as the "Company"), which was founded as a venture from Waseda University, was engaged in consulting at Kan'eiji Temple, the head temple of the Tendai sect. ) We will start awarding two types of limited-edition cut-out goshuin stamps produced by our company. It will be awarded at the main hall of the temple, Nemoto Chudo, and this will be the first time that two types of awards have been awarded at the same time. This temple is known as the place of prayer and family temple of the Tokugawa shogunate, and is an extremely prestigious temple where 6 of the 15 shoguns of the past, more than 2 of them at Nikko Toshogu Shrine, are buried. Since the temple began awarding paper-cut Goshuin stamps for the first time in May, the response has been great, and even now, many people from all over Japan still come to worship at Kan'ei-ji Temple in search of paper-cut Goshuin stamps.

1. Limited edition cut-out goshuin “Tokugawa cut-out goshuin''

The main hall of Kan'eiji Temple, “Konpon Chudo,'' and the “Aoi no Gomon,'' which is a symbol of the Tokugawa family, are expressed in detailed paper cutouts. In addition, the navy blue mount is stamped with elegant light purple foil to create a winter scene. We hope that you will be able to experience the beauty of Nemoto Chudo in the snowy winter through this paper-cut goshuin seal.

2. New Year's visit limited cut-out goshuin "Kaneiji Temple Engi – Dragon and Helmet"

The motif is the dragon, which is this year's zodiac sign, and depicts a rising figure surrounding the hollyhock crest. In addition, the auspicious helmet that Tokugawa Ieyasu wore during his victory from Sekigahara to Osaka has been expressed with delicate paper cutouts and gorgeous gold foil stamping. We have carefully made this offering to pray for happiness and new beginnings this year.

3. About Kan'eiji Temple

Kan'eiji is the head temple of the Tendai sect. It was built in 1625 on the plateau of Ueno, which corresponds to the Demon Gate (Tohoku) of Edo Castle, by the priest Jigen Daishi Tenkai to pray for the peace of the Tokugawa shogunate and the peace of all people. Ta. Later, a mausoleum for the fourth shogun, Tokugawa Ietsuna, was built, and it also served as the family temple of the shogun family.
