“Ueno no Tokidoki Yanesen,” which promotes the charms of the Ueno area, introduces Yokoo Cafe in Higashiueno . Yokoo Sorinkan, a long-established bicycle shop that will celebrate its 100th anniversary next year, renovated the second floor of its store into a cafe and opened it three years ago. In the store, where vintage frames and accessories unique to a bicycle shop are stylishly displayed, we asked the owner Yokoo about the thoughts he put into the cafe.
In “Behind the Scenes of the Exhibition,” the curator will guide you through the exhibition, weaving in theatrical jargon to liken it to the backstage of a performance. The exhibition we will be introducing is Ueno Artist Project 2024 “Nostalgia – Scenes in Memory,” which opened on Saturday, November 16th. This exhibition, which introduces eight artists with the keyword “nostalgia,” will be held at Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum Galleries A and C until January 8, 2025 .
