③ Highlights and an introduction to the Cincinnati Museum of Art
■ Exhibition Highlights: A textbook of modern European art comes straight to Ueno!
The Cincinnati Museum of Art (Ohio, USA), one of the most historic museums in the United States, has selected 84 masterpieces from its vast collection by renowned masters such as Corot, Cézanne, Monet, Renoir, Van Gogh, and Picasso, and these works are coming to Japan! Remarkably, 81 of these works will be exhibited in Japan for the first time. This luxurious exhibition, which can truly be called a "textbook" of modern art, systematically presents the evolution of modern European art, from Romanticism to Academicism, the Barbizon School, Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, and from the formative period of modern art to Cubism.
■ What is the Cincinnati Art Museum?
Founded in 1881, it is one of the oldest art museums in America. It was born from a strong sense of community, a "gift by the people, for the people," built not only through donations from a few wealthy individuals, but also through the contributions of citizens who love their town. Based on the strong belief that "art belongs to everyone," it continues to offer free admission and remains a beloved community space where people of all ages can easily enjoy art throughout the year.
