A new sweets zone called “Oyatsu Park” will open on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at “Ecute Ueno,” an in-station commercial facility at JR Ueno Station operated by JR East Cross Station Development Company, Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Company President: Akio Sugimura). The new zone will consist of four shops, opening in an in-station store for the first time, and will be located next to the station. Three shops selling clothing and miscellaneous goods, souvenirs, etc. will also open (one new shop, two renovated shops).

Four shops will be opening in a station for the first time, offering high-quality sweets in a casual setting, from classic items loved by a wide range of generations, to famous products from Ueno, Tokyo, and shops that have been the subject of media attention. The three shops will have live kitchens, and will offer freshly baked sweets that you can see, eat, and enjoy, such as canelés with their irresistible sweet aroma, rice flour churros that you can watch as they are fried, and soft cookies that will excite you with the aroma of freshly baked goods wafting from the oven. In addition, there will be a wide range of products that can be used in a variety of situations, such as enjoying freshly baked sweets immediately after purchase on the high tables set up in the area, or taking them home as picnic companions or souvenirs.

The concept of this newly renovated zone (a total of seven shops, including the four shops in “Oyatsu Park”) is “travel and snacks.” Part of the Oyatsu Park is an open space, allowing you to pass through to souvenir and bento shops and general goods shops. You can enjoy a wide range of shopping, from choosing souvenirs for loved ones to buying daily necessities for yourself and small travel essentials. Come to Ecute Ueno and enjoy the feeling of “travel and snacks” by choosing and eating.
