A monjayaki restaurant run by sisters, the third generation of Edo natives. You can experience authentic target shooting in the restaurant. Please enjoy our specialty, "target shooting monjayaki."
Shitamachi Monja Yuji, a monjayaki restaurant where you can enjoy shooting games in a festival atmosphere, will have its grand opening on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 in the Ueno/Okachimachi area.
*The pre-opening period will be from Thursday, April 11th to Wednesday, April 16th, 2024.
- background
My father, Yuji, who raised my sisters and I on his own.
When my sisters and I decided to open our monjayaki restaurant, we had already decided on a name for it.
Although my father never works in the shop, he always keeps a warm eye over us.
My father, Yuji, was born in the downtown area and was a true Edokko.
The coolest day was on festival day.
There are large portable shrines, people wearing happi coats, music, colorful food stalls, and a shooting gallery and quoits.
We named it this way because we wanted the store to be fun, exciting, and filled with happiness, just like that unforgettable night for our family.

- Shop's Commitment
◼️The interior of the store is reminiscent of old festival nights
The lanterns are lit, creating a bright and lively space.
At the back of the store, we have a full-scale shooting range modeled after a food stall.
Fun for both children and adults!
◼️Original art exhibit filled with passion
Photographs from the Shitaya Shrine Festival in 1970 and two pieces of art are displayed on the walls.
Left: This expression brings to mind memories of going to a local festival when I was little.
I loved the atmosphere of festivals, where it was lively, there were all kinds of sounds, people were curious about everything, and everyone came together as if it was a place they didn't know. I drew this with the image of that space in mind.
Right: The theme is the lingering feeling after a festival. Festivals are not just fun, but you also feel a sense of sadness after they are over, returning to your daily life, and thinking about coming back next year on your way home.
