"Uenode Food Fest 2024 in the 31st National Exchange Association Tokyo for Cities Associated with Korean Envoys" is a local and international exchange event that combines the three themes of "food," "fun," and "learning." With the aim of getting to know the Korean Envoys, a historical asset of friendship between Japan and Korea that has been registered as a World Memory Heritage , we will provide a place and opportunity to spend time with your precious family and friends by enjoying delicious food such as Ueno's shopping district and local gourmet food from all over the country while enjoying a mix of Japanese and Korean entertainment such as traditional dance, idols, K-POP, enka, and trot. Admission is free , so please feel free to participate.

A large gathering of various Japanese and Korean artists!
A special Japanese-Korean entertainment stage will be set up in front of the Ueno Park Fountain Square, where various artists and idols from Japan and Korea will perform!
The stage will feature a wide variety of entertainment that combines Japanese and Korean traditions, including traditional dance, idols, K-POP, enka, and trot (Korean enka).
The event is designed to be enjoyed by people of all ages, genders, and nationalities, from children to the elderly.

Learn about history at a ceremony related to the Korean Envoys, a tradition that has continued for over 400 years!
■ What is the National Association of Towns Associated with Korean Envoys?
Japan and Korea have had active trade since ancient times, but diplomatic relations were severed due to the Korean War. The Edo Shogunate tried to restore the severed diplomatic relations, and negotiated repeatedly with the Tsushima Domain as an intermediary. As a result, in 1607, the King of Korea resumed sending diplomatic missions to Japan. This was the beginning of the Korean missions in the Edo period.
The National Exchange Meeting of Towns Associated with the Korean Envoys is an exchange meeting aimed at conveying the historical significance and culture of the Korean Envoys to many people, as well as promoting "exchange and cooperation" with towns associated with the envoys in Japan and Korea, leading to cultural promotion. It is a conference that brings together representatives from places associated with the envoys from all over the country.
This event will feature a series of ceremonies that will allow visitors to experience interactions with the historic Korean envoys, including an introduction to the history of the Korean envoys, a grand procession that recreates the procession of the Korean envoys, and an exchange of diplomatic letters.
