We will be holding the “Art Future Research Center Exhibition” to present the concept of the Art Future Research Center in the form of an exhibition!

Tokyo University of the Arts “Art Future Research Center” / Art communication co-creation base for creating a symbiotic society

Tokyo University of the Arts (President: Katsuhiko Hibino) will present the concept of the "Geijutsu Mirai Kenkyujo", which was established in April 2023, in the form of an exhibition. An exhibition will be held.

The Art Future Research Center was established in April 2023 as an organization that explores the ideal state of humanity and the earth, with art as the core of human life's power. Rather than calling it a " research institute " as a closed facility, we named it a "research center " with the meaning that various players gather, connect, practice art that is open to society, and create the future together.

This exhibition will focus on not only academic but also artistic creativity from each of the five cross-disciplinary areas of the Art Future Research Institute: art education/liberal arts, creative archive, art DX, curation, and care & communication. We will exhibit works and projects that have been created, as well as ongoing experiments and practices such as the use of technology, media, and records, as well as works by faculty and students, as well as activities in collaboration with other universities, companies, local governments, etc. I will send a message.

During the exhibition period, there are many workshops and symposiums planned mainly on weekends, and information about other exhibitions and events held at the same time as this exhibition and the venue of this exhibition can be found online. We will visualize and experience how the "places" inside and outside the university are blurring together. For example, the “Art Communication Co-Creation Center for Creating a Cohesive Society,'' which is a core project in the care and communication field of the “Art Future Research Institute,'' will hold experiential exhibits related to the “cultural prescriptions'' advocated by the center. to hold.

"The power of imagination is the power of human life." This will become "the power to change the world and create the future."

The foundation of art, the ability to imagine things that are not here now, is the power to change the world and create the future. We hope that you will enjoy seeing art's “response to the future.''

<An art communication co-creation base that creates a symbiotic society>

In a super-aging society where one in three people will be over the age of 65 by 2030, we are proposing a “cultural prescription'' as a solution to unwanted loneliness and social isolation. With Tokyo University of the Arts at its core, 38 institutions, including specialized institutions in art, welfare/medical care, technology, etc., companies, and local governments, have brought together knowledge and technology to solve social issues, developed "cultural prescriptions," and By implementing it in society, we aim to co-create a society where everyone can participate in society throughout their life and continue to live happy and healthy lives. https://kyoso.geidai.ac.jp/

*The “Art Communication Co-Creation Center for Creating a Cohesive Society” is a project that has been selected by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) Co-Creation Platform Support Program (CIO-NEXT) and is being promoted by Tokyo University of the Arts as the representative institution. .

<Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) Co-creation Space Formation Support Program (COI-NEXT)>

The Co-Creation Space Creation Support Program involves universities and other institutions playing a central role in formulating a desired future society (center vision), promoting research and development toward its realization, and continuing to provide support even after the project ends. This is an industry-academia collaboration program that aims to form an independent industry-academia-government co-creation base that produces results. The Center of Innovation (COI) program, one of JST's existing center-forming programs, has designed a system based on the concept of "vision-driven, backcast R&D." The nickname of the program is "COI-NEXT."
